I chose this picture because it took so much patience and concentration to get the picture. The butterfly flew away immediately after the picture was taken and I thought it would be a terrible picture but I surprisingly got the shot.

Lupita C - Brother

A couple months ago I took this portrait of my brother for a shooting assignment. I took this picture at my house and I set up some black fabric for the background and used a reflector on the opposite side of my brother. What I love about this picture is that it's a reflection of his sweet and kind personality. I like how you get this cheerful felling when you look at the picture. It's more than just a normal portrait, it portrays emotion.

I took this photo of my dog, Lucy, on the day I got my new camera. It was nice and sunny outside and my dog was just sitting in the yard. I was messing around with the camera and just simply snapped a photo of her. When I brought it into class and worked with it in Photoshop, I noticed that it turned out really well. I adjusted the levels, brightness and contrast, and I also darkened the grass to make her pop a little more. I really like the way the color came out in her fur and the way she seems calm and relaxed in the grass.

I took the forest picture at a clearing near my house, and the wood was just a sheet of hardwood that I saw in the shop of the theater. I really like the spiral for the text, which was a pain to trace with the pen tool before I realized I could type directly on the shape. I also like how the background of the forest fades out and how that makes the light look.

I Find it interesting because in order to see this wonderful downtown welcome sign, you have to be in the midst of the city. it invites you to stay longer, laugh louder, and smile bigger.

I took a picture of each object right outside my house against a plain wall to get good lighting. I like this picture because it was the first project that I worked really hard on. I took my time to play around with everything and even started from scratch a couple of times. It is also more special because it includes things that I love. The thing that always helps me out when making a picture is always playing around with the placement of things. It also helps to make a small change because it can make the difference.

Kyla M - Abandoned Asylum

This is one of my favorite photos. I took it in Chelsea at an abandoned insane asylum, but what I really like about this picture is that the graffiti is different colors and it adds to the uniqueness of the picture. I like how it is lighter going down the hallway and there is a lot of rubble on the ground. To edit this photo I used the ruler tool to straighten the image and I also changed some of the levels and color balance in the picture.

Alex S - Autumn Morning

I moved to Alabama just as we started the portrait project, so this was one of my first pictures.  I took it at home, outside, early in the morning.

I like the highlights on my sister's face and clothes.  Her posture is also very relaxed and natural.

This isn't the best photograph I've taken since being here, but it is one of my favorites.
