Rachel C - Nicole

I took this picture of my friend, Nicole, right after rain fall in the middle of fall. I think the reason this picture is so unusual is the view point and the contrast of the warm colors of the ground to the cool colors of the damp trees. To take this I couldn’t even see through the lens, I just held my camera over Nicole’s head and it came out perfectly centered and focused.

Olivia S - Rascal

I chose this picture because my dog, rascal, was actually still for the picture. I created a black and white layer to this picture. I loved the black and white project because you could take pictures of anything. The b&w edit shows a lot of detail, and is very clean looking. Enjoy!!

Paola A - Clock

I took this picture for the first photography project. I really like how the clock looks with the clouds and the colors of the picture.  I think it looks very clear and have a good contrast. I cropped the picture and change the levels. I also edited a little bit the tone and contrast.

Sophie W - Lauren

I took this picture of Lauren in the courtyard. She sat on the ground and threw mulch up at the camera. I edited it by fixing the color balance and cropping it so there was not as much empty space.

Savannah F - Rainbow Tunnel

This picture was taken downtown in the rainbow tunnel. I was with my friends and I decided to take some pictures because it was really pretty, and ended up with this one.

Natalie W - Tunnel Action

I took this picture of my friend Mallory in the light tunnel downtown. I think the lights at the bottom of the picture, made by a passing car, make the picture look pretty cool. To edit this picture, I cropped it, straightened it, and changed the curves. I think it could be better if it was taken at a different angle. Overall, this project was a challenge but also one of my favorites.

Madeline E - Bench Lounging

This gif was created outside in the courtyard with Shane. I had him move all around the table and then I took different shots of him. I think it turned out really cool.

Matt L - Lake Sunset

I took this picture riding down in a boat on one summer evening at Logan Martin Lake. I particularly like the texture of the water and how I captured the bird flying. The sun behind the trees creates a neat silhouette. I edited the picture by adjusting the levels and cropping the over all picture.

Mariah M - Bear

I chose this picture because it has a nice composition of the shapes in this. Everything is lined up perfectly and the bear is just a bonus. This is my photo from the toy photography.

Lauren L - Water Drop

I chose this picture because I believe the way the water is just about to fall creates a really cool freeze frame photo. It took many tries to get this photo to turn out the way I wanted but eventually I got the shot I wanted.

Marvin T - Soccer

I just decided to got outside and have some fun till I made up my mind to take a shot of my friend. This may not be the best shot in the world but for some reason i love this picture. I feel that i am moving along with him, every time i see this photo.Speaking of photos, i Made just a few edits to the picture. I just cropped the picture and changed a little bit of the vibrance. I also made a tiny adjustment to the brightness and contrast. Overall this is one of my favorite pictures that I took.

Ronald N - Piano Keys

This picture of piano keys shows a the eye following the keys down the path. Nothing special besides I thought it looks cool.

Rebekah C - Basketball Players

I took this picture at a basketball game for the action photography assignment. This picture is a subject motion blur. I like the way the blur looks like a painting. I also like the colors in the picture.

Josh T - Save

This picture was taken during a recent soccer practice. I had one teammate shoot a relatively slow shot and had Brooks make a dramatic diving save. Although the picture looks very powerful and as if the ball is traveling at a fast velocity, it is not. My favorite aspect of the picture is the composition and how I managed to freeze Brooks in mid-air.

Jordan S - Wandering Butterfly

The title I have given my picture is wandering butterfly. This picture was taken in Auburn, Alabama at Grand National Golf Course. I saw the butterfly land on the plant and quickly took out my camera to take a picture. When I edited this picture I mostly darkened all of the colors. I also customized my curves to make the butterfly more visible. I also used the dodge tool on the butterfly so that it would stand out more. This picture could be better if the plant and its textures were easier to see. I chose this as my best photo because I felt it had good composition and emphasis and turned out pretty well in black and white.

Lindsey M - Freeze

This is an action picture I took of a friend at the beach when she was dancing. I think it would have been better if I had not used my phone as the camera. This picture is my favorite because I love the sunset in the background and how Katherine stands out.

Jordan D - Action

This picture is my favorite I have edited so far because it was the hardest to capture. I used to do gymnastics and so this sport is my favorite to watch, especially when its my little sister doing it. I love the lighting and the colors in this picture as well. It gives me a confident and energetic vibe.

Jonah T - Portrait

I took this picture for the portrait project. For this picture I had my brother stand behind the column and show his head from behind. I edited the image by straightening the column to make it look more natural, and I did a levels and curves on the image too.

Libby S - Powder Freeze

This is a photo I took during the action photography project. I had my dad squeeze a bottle of baby powder and I set the shutter speed to 1/800th of a second. I also had him do it against a brick wall background because I thought it would contrast well with the white. I feel like I really captured the perfect moment and the huge cloud of powder blowing in the wind. I just cropped it and used auto color to make it better. I could have made it better by putting the camera on a tripod. I enjoyed taking freeze photos and this one is definitely my favorite by a long shot.

Lauren F - Danielle

This photo is of my beautiful cousin, Danielle. I captured this picture when she was in the middle of a laugh and smile. I used the rule of thirds for this photograph, as you can tell she is on the right side not dead in the middle. To edit this photo, I first turned up the brightness and contrast. Then, I lowered the offset which makes the picture have a really good look. I turned up the vibrance and a little saturation. Then, to finish off the picture, I spot-healed any blemishes I saw.

Olivia N - Train Depot

The photo I picked is of a fence and it’s titled Train Depot. This photo was taken at the train depot in Leeds. I took this picture by aligning the camera to the fence and focusing the camera forward. To edit it I added a levels layer and auto contrasted the photo.

Olivia J - Window Reflection

This picture is a portrait of my sister, Victoria. We were in my backyard at around 5 taking pictures for the action photography project. We went under my back porch and I noticed how cool the reflection was in the window. When Victoria stood in front of it, I knew it would make a really pretty picture. I was having difficulty taking the picture without my reflection in it, so I had to stand in a crazy way to get myself out. The only thing that bugs me about this picture is how grainy it is because I had my shutter speed way too fast.

Gillian E - Freeze

I took this picture during the action photography assignment. I made my friend jump in the air and i took a picture of her.

Gracie S - Bugatti

I took this picture at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. They were having a car exhibit and I didn’t want to go, but I’m really glad I went now because I got to take this picture and some other good photos. I like it because the composition is good and it’s a really clear shot. I could have made it better by editing out some of the dust on it, but other than that I think it’s a really good picture. I edited it by changing the color cast to take out some of the greenish light on it, and I straightened it as well.

Emily L - Goose

I chose this photo as my blog post because I love the composition of it and it feels very serene to me personally.

Devin T - Mike W

This is one of my toy pictures of Mike Wasowski laying in the leaves at Veteran’s Park. I enjoy this picture because the leaves create a consistent background. The toy is really glowing kudos to the sun. The expression on Mike’s face is so laid back; he’s enjoying the moment of relaxation.

Jack S - Dinosaur

This is a picture of  a toy dinosaur doing math homework. I took this picture by setting up the dinosaur on my math homework and then propping a pencil in his hands to make it look like he is doing the homework. I like this picture because you see a dinosaur doing homework and it seems really weird because dinosaurs don’t do homework.

Mary-Katherine C - Olivia

This photo is of my friend Olivia. We were taking action shots and I got this one of her flipping her hair. I like it because the lighting makes it kind of look cool and her hair is fanned out.

Leah M - Hope Rocks

This is my friend Hope and we may or may not have trespassed to get this picture. It was really cool though and completely worth it. People might have said water you doing, but I just replied this place rocks.

Heather W - Gateway

I took this picture at the botanical gardens with my iPhone. I like the shadows and the green of the plants in the bottom left. I like the repetition of the stairs and the sky at the top.

Caleb G - A Day in the Life of Two Best Friends

This photo is one of the two clone troopers sitting on the branch looking out. It was made in the school courtyard, on a clear morning. I chose the two clone troopers because I wanted to tell a story about them with the pictures I took, like a day in the life of best friends. Coincidentally, that’s the name of the picture. I edited this photo by using the dodge tool to saturate the colors, then used a curves adjustment layer to add contrast. I like the reds and browns in the background, made with brick and bark. This picture really was fun to take.

Bailey R - Covered Bridge

This picture was taken in a small town in Alabama. It has in the foreground a beautiful water fall that was froze in motion. In the background you have the rest of the water and an old rustic covered bridge. I love this picture I took because i love the colors of the bridge. The water in the foreground ties this all together by showing a little piece of Alabama history.

Hayley W - Greer

The photo I picked is of my sisters best friend Greer. I took this photo in my backyard I got Greer to lean against my pool fence. We had a lot of fun taking these pictures we laughed and giggled a lot and she had trouble keeping a straight face but it turned out really good.

Grey B - Nothing but Net

This is one of my action project pictures. It is the best pan I took and I got it on the first try. Probably the best thing that came out this picture was the memories I have from when Crew, Jonah, Josh, Chris and I shared when we went to the gym to take “pictures.” We had so much fun because we would have half of us taking pictures and the other half playing basketball. So no one can say that you can’t mix work with play.

Jakob C - American Flag

I think the American Flag is one of the best photos i used this year. I really like the way the colors pop off the flag. I Also think i cropped it really well to fit the picture. It looks like it is moving with the wind. I could have made it better if the sun was behind me but that is alright.

Hieu H - Guap

This is a photo of my Gundam toy rolling in his “guap”. How he got that much money, he wouldn’t say. “Worry ‘bout yoself”.

Antonio S - Ball is Life

I chose this GIF for several reasons, one being; as a young kid, I was obsessed with creating flip books out of sticky notes. I would find a note pad and have a ball bouncing or a man taking flight. It’d be a complete waste of a notepad but I couldn’t care less as a kid because it looked sick. Another reason why I chose this GIF is because ball is life.

Anna S - Subject Motion Blur

This is a photo of my brother that was swinging, I took the picture in the park and it turned out really well. This is a Subject motion blur photo, with the background clear and the subject blurred.

Lauren J - Gracefulness

To create this photo I had my sister do some of her favorite dance poses. This one turned out to be the best. I then opened it in photoshop and cropped it, made it black and white. I really liked how this turned out because it really shows how good of a dancer she is and also the black and white adds to the gracefulness of the picture

Hunter F - Toy

This picture is from the toy photography project. All I had to do was get some of my homework out and put the toy on top of the sheet with a pencil and a calculator and I turned my lamp on. I picked this one as my favorite because it was the best picture, in my opinion, that I had taken in this project.

Meg M - King's Chair

I took this picture at Oak Mountain State Park when my friends and I went hiking one day over Christmas break. The place that we hiked to looks out over Chelsea, and you can even see the smoke stacks out in Wilsonville from up there. I really like this picture because it captures a vast area of Alabama.

Drew H - Jump

This was the best picture that I took during this project. I told Billy to jump up high to see what would happen. I set the shutter speed fast and took the picture when he was in mid air. It turned out really well. I took this picture outside in the courtyard during one of our free days. I enjoyed this assignment very much. I think I could it could have been better with a sounder background.

Antoinette M - Running

I took pictures of Shane B. running to a jump in the courtyard. I liked it more because you have to real come up with some intestine ideas to get 16 pictures. Its the same bc you still have to take pictures and make the line up evenly. My favorite thing about this was being able to take the same picture of someone but still make it cool. I really didn’t have a least favorite thing about this project.

Carolina M - Black and White

I took this picture at a dog park. I was walking my dog and saw this stream and i though that it looked really good so I took a picture of it and I used it for my black and white project. I really like the way the rocks are in focus and the water and tree in the background is blurry.

Devontae J - Gone Girl

i like this photo because when i took it it was so simple but when looking over it i just noticed how it almost looked like olivia (the blurry one) is almost not supposed to be there almost like she is a ghost. the picture just turned out really weird but i ended up liking it.

Corbin W - Oak Mountain

This photo was taken after a 12 mile hike through Oak Mountain, and when we got to the peak I was able to catch this shot. I thin the trees’s on both side of him emphasized the subject and makes they eye focus on the middle more than usual. The view was great for this photo and just added to it composition.

Crew V - Florida Sunset

I took this picture over the summer while my family and I were in Florida. It was on the golf course behind the condo we were staying in, I adjusted the levels, increased the contrast and edited the color balance in photoshop. I just really liked the photo and thought it looked like a computer background.

Abby M - Merritt and Olivia

This is a gif from our Animation Project. It is a 16-frame gif of Olivia and Merritt.

Billiy R - Baseball Field

I took this picture during our surrealism project. I was trying to use this as a background. It turns out I never used this picture. I like this picture because baseball has been apart of my life ever since i was three years old. This picture explains me. It was very easy to take. All I did to edit this picture was change the color and contrast. I took this picture from outside the fence in left field before practice.
