Lauren J - Warhol

This is my Warhol picture. This is a picture of my two best friends Marie and Jason. I really like this picture because I love the colors I chose and it looks really cool.

Jazmain H - Max

The image that I used for this assignment is a picture from off the Instagram of one of my favorite drag queens Max, who is now on season 7 of Rupaul’s Drag Race. What I like about the project is that I did it so that the words are not all the same size or font. If I could do the assignment over I would have liked to have a different picture, preferably one with different hair because I feel like it would have looked better.

Gracie S - Architecture

I took this picture at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. They had all these little red steel houses out in the courtyard and I thought they looked cool, so I took this picture. I like it because it leads your eye in the direction of the glass windows. I could have tried to get the people out of the background so it would be a clearer picture.

Noah P - Action

I took this photo before a basketball game. I really like how her leg’s got blurry in this picture. I wouldn’t do too much different than this picture because I like the way it turned out.

Jonah T - Subject Motion

I took this picture for the action photography project. To compose this picture I increased the shutter speed so that the camera would capture a longer period of time and I captured my little brother’s basketball team’s huddle. I like the picture because It’s really cool to see all of the team’s movements in one picture.

Preston R - Portrait

My favorite picture taken was the one titled Portrait 1. It was taken in my yard, in the late afternoon. I edited it by adjusting the levels and colors, and i cropped it. It would have been better if the Red Sox sticker wasn’t on the truck. I like this picture because I really like the colors of the tree in the background. I wish I had taken the picture earlier in the day

Leah M - Colorado

I took this photo while I was visiting Colorado. I like it because I like how it looks like there is a reflection but there really isn’t and it uses the rule of thirds. I also just really really love Colorado. Like a lot. It probably could’ve been better but I was on top of a rock so I was trying not to fall.

Hunter T - Person

i got this picture online, and just filled in his whole body with the actual word for that body part. I made one word of each body part bigger and kind of stand out then surrounded that word with multiple more in different sizes and slants. If i were to do this differently i would have just copied the one word multiple times instead of writing out each one, that would have made this project go by twice as fast.

Madelyn H - My Dog

I took this picture of my dog. i like to call her the most “photogenic” one out of the dogs i have. she is always ready to pose and smile for the camera. this is one of my favorites out of the ones I’ve taken.

Jordan D - Portrait

I chose this black and white picture because I love portraits. I also love the effect black and white adds to a picture. It usually make sit more serious and since my subject is making a serous face, I think it adds up nicely. I also like how unique this picture is because theres a scarf wrapped around her head. The whiteness of the scarf matches with the darkness of her eyes and lips really well.

Jordan S - Portrait

I took this photo in my friend’s front yard. I like this photo because its main focus point is her face. If I were to change something about this photograph, I would have taken the photo with a less distracting background. With a less distracting background, the portrait would turn out better than it is.

Rachel C - Fall Colors

This is a picture of my friend Kylie, I took it in Mt.Laurel. To edit the picture I increased the saturation and warmth to make the background colors pop. The reason I like this portrait is because there is a nice contrast of cool and warm colors. I love her expression and the way the fall colors complement her hair.

Rebecca P - Surrealism

i took the picture of the girls while i was at the pumpkin patch. then i took the picture of the sidewalk and the sun out in the court yard. what i like about this picture is how they are walking into the sun holding hands. its cousin love forever. i would probably make the people more evident in the picture, instead of fading them out so much. This is my favorite picture, because they are my friends and i just thought it captured their relationship really well. :))))))

Khari N - Dog

I took this photo in the middle of my room after giving my dog a bath. I like the quality of this image and how good he came out to look. If i could go back and make something different about this picture, it would be to catch him with his tongue out because everyone likes those kind of pictures where the dog has its tongue out. My boy was bad at a point but now i think he gets the gist.

Josh T - Hawk

This image is a typographical image of a hawk. I found the initial picture on Google Images. To create the hawk, I used a text layer, then converted it to a shape layer. I then manipulated this shape to fit the body composition of the hawk. If I could, I would go back and try to make each tip on the hawk’s wings more uniform.

Mary Katherine C - I Believe in Nashville

This photo was taken in Nashville, Tennessee. (shocking I know) I like this picture because its  picture of art so kind of like art.. of art. I like the patriotic colors and how it really adds emphasis to the plain white wall. If I had the opportunity to retake the photo I would of taken the picture with it more centered and better lighting. All in all I love this photo, and Nashville.

Olivia J - Michaela

This is a picture I took of my friend Michaela at Aldridge Gardens. I like this picture because all the colors tie the picture together in a really cool way. If I could take this picture again I would make the lighting better so she didn’t have a shadow on one side of her face.

Marvin T - Pathway

I took this photo at Moss Rock with my family. We just decided to go hiking in the afternoon, then i found this pathway, which i liked for some reason. I guess i like this picture because I did not  know where the path might take me. Also there were some pretty sights along the path. If i were to change something it would be to capture more variety and not be to plain and boring.

Madeline E - Wreath

This Picture was taken when fall first started. It was a door decoration wreath and it was really pretty and i think it turned out really good with the iron door behind it. I took this picture at my house on a pretty sunny day with perfect weather

Sara S - Sunset

I took this photo over spring break when i was at the beach. I loved how tranquil the waves were and how the sunset reflected on the ocean. I did no edits on this photo because I thought it was perfect the way it was.

Morgan L - Alabama

This was my typography 2 assignment. I decided to make the state of Alabama made up of the word and of the cities in their places. I worked very hard to make this as geographically correct as possible, while also trying to make it creative.

Sarah A - Water Lily

I took this photo at the koi pond in the outlet mall outside of Hobby Lobby. I really like how the picture turned out and I love the colors. the lily is set in the rule of thirds which makes it looks a little better instead go it being in the center. the lily brings out the color in the picture while the lily pads and leaves are mostly green and brown. Another reason why i like this photo is because the sun was not shining that day so i was able to get a better result. This is my favorite picture that i have ever taken.

Merritt H - Freeze

I took this picture in the woods behind my house on a rainy.  It was kinda difficult to get my sister to go outside and get her to jump in the water numerous times, but it turned out well so I don’t feel bad about it.  I like how her converse stand out against the other colors and how the water is easily seen.  This is probably one of my most favorite pictures I’ve taken.

Olivia N - Brothers

I took this photo in Jacksonville, AL. I like this picture because of the vibrancy of the colors. If I could have done something differently, I would have taken the picture at a closer distance instead of me having to crop the picture that I did now. I would also get rid of the light in the left corner.

Rebekah C - Dandelion

I took this picture at my farm by picking a dandelion and holding it up to the sun so that the sun was behind it and the flower would glow. I like the picture because it’s my favorite flower and I like the way the sun looks behind the flower. It could have been better if I took the picture with my camera instead of my phone.

Morgan P - Mia

This is a picture of my puppy Mia. She is a Cavapoo and is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. I took this picture in my Tita’s (grandma) backyard. I had my camera with me and we just played around a little bit. I love this picture because it shows her adorable little face and her attraction to the camera.

Olivia S - Converse in Leaves

I chose this picture particularly because i loved the black and white photo project. It also shows a lot of detail in the leaves and the converse stand out a lot. I took this photo in my front yard, but i think i could have made the picture more interesting if i zoomed in or had a different back ground.

Summer S - Pan

I took this photo at school in the hall by the windows and had my friend run across the hall. I followed her with the camera as she ran and this is what happened. While editing the photo, I messed with the curves and levels. If I could change anything, I would go back and try to retake this photo because of the darkness on the right side.

Tommy K - Sunset

This is a photo that I took at my house one evening when i noticed an amazing sunset. As soon as i saw the sky I knew I had to take a picture. I love this photo because of how vivid the colors are, and how beautiful the sunset is. If i could do something differently next time, i would take more pictures, so i could have different variations of a similar picture.

Rebecca L - Coca-Cola

I took this photo in Mt. Laurel outside of the little grocery store. There are two old fashioned wooden crates, one coke and one pepsi, and I like their rustic look. It looks really good in color but I think the black and white contrasts more than the red and white so the “Coca-cola” stands out. If I could change one thing, I probably would take the picture more straight on so that the logo isn’t so slanted.

Natalie W - Downtown Sun

I took this picture in a parking lot in downtown Birmingham. I happened to have my camera and thought because the sun was starting to set, it would make a cool picture. To edit this picture, I straightened it then changed the brightness and contrast. Also, I like how the telephone poles can lead your eyes through the picture.

Savannah F - Lake

I took this picture when I went to my lake house with my brother and my dad. We were getting stuff for a fire and the sun looked good, and I took a picture of it.

Sophie W - Dachshund

I took this picture at my friend’s house in her driveway. Her neighbor’s dog was running around and so I decided to take a picture of him while I was sitting at the other end of the driveway. I like how the sun shines directly down on him through the trees. If I could take the picture again I would get closer to the dog so he would be bigger.

Rachel F - Music

This typography is called Music, and I made it by adding different types of music genres in different text layers. Even though editing every letter took a really long time, I like the end result because it makes the letters look kind of retro. I enjoyed making this because I enjoy music and I like how it came out.

Shane B - Frightened

I took this photo at veterans park, I like this photo because i do. I would do nothing different.

Tucker P - RWBY

This image is from the internet anime series “RWBY” (pronounced ruby) created by Monty Oum from RoosterTeeth. I did this picture as a memento to Monty Oum, as he died in early February this year. To make this I got the emblem of each member of team RWBY, then made the mask/text layer for each emblem their own layer and made the text the same color as the emblem it was going to be. The font I used is a fan made font based off the font used for the title in the show. I set the font size to be 12 pt and the leading to be the same. The text used to make up each emblem says “RIP MONTY OUM” over and over. After I made the emblems I put four text layers set to 700 pt font with each member’s first initial, which is where the name RWBY comes from. (R for Ruby, W for Weiss, B for Blake, and Y for Yang.) I then set each letter’s opacity to be 50.

Taylor S - Fence

I took this picture of the gate at the Spain Park Baseball Field. I love this photo because it just focuses on the gate while everything else is blurry. I changed this picture to black and white because it brings out the gate instead of having the color of the field in the background. I wouldn’t have changed anything about this picture because all I wanted the picture to do was focus on the gate and nothing else. I feel like this picture is a perfect example of just focusing on the subject.

Avery H - Football Game

This photo was taken at a high school football game. This is one of my favorite pictures because it just really sets the mood for a football game and it makes you feel like you are present at the game. The clouds in the picture really sets the mode for the photo. What I would have done different would be to get a little higher up on the stands.

Sydney W - Freeze

This is a picture of my friend Christian jumping hurdles at track practice. I took it took help him correct his form and it turned out to be a really cool picture of him that I kept.

Vindhya B - Whale

This is my animal typography project. I used a whale. I liked the concept of taking one word and making it look an animal. I really enjoyed this project, and it is one of my favorite projects. At first, I did not seem to enjoy it as much as the others, but I ended up liking it a lot. I would try to make the fin more better.

Heather W - Polaroid

This polaroid is made entirely out of words. I varied the words I was using and the colors and added some shadows for the buttons and the knob. I really liked the way it came out. I worked hard on it and changed specific letters to give it a three dimensional feel.

Tucker P - LoZ Failure

To make this project, I took a continuous set of pictures of me running, I them used a paint program at home to make the different health bars and placed them on each image. To animate it, I opened the first image and then placed every image after on top of it in order, each image in its own layer. After adding all the images I hid all but he bottom layer and duplicated that keyframe in the animation window until I had the same amount of key frames as layers. Then I simply revealed the next layer up on each keyframe, adjusted the time on each frame to be 0.1 sec delay on the the running part, 0.2 sec delay on the hearts decreasing, and no delay on the hearts refilling with 0.5 sec delay on the last frame.

This project was different in that all of the pictures had to create a sort of video. They couldn’t all be completely different things.

It was the same in that you still had to use the same skills to take the pictures that have been used for other projects.

My favorite part for this project was being able to make something funny and weird like me.

My least favorite part was the actual animating as it took FOREVER to go through each and every single frame, especially when you had 42 pictures like I did.

Tommy K - Freeze

I created this photo by perfectly timing a picture of a firework going off. It was the fourth of July so we had lots of fireworks! To edit this in photoshop i selected everything but the fireworks and made everything else brighter. I really like this image because it captures a moment that every American thinks of when they think of fireworks.

Summer S - Goose

This is my favorite photo that i recently took. I was at the park and this goose swam toward me and i thought it would be a great opportunity to take this photo. i set my camera to a high shutter speed and captured this photo. i think the reason why i love this photo so much is because it makes me peaceful and calm.

Sarah A - Love at War

I took this photo at a Winter Guard competition. I tried to capture the moment in her face as her dance is supposed to tell a story of a loved one gone at war and she is hoping he will return home. To edit this picture i corrected the color and increased the brightness and contrast. I also cropped it to make her on the rule of thirds and to keep it balanced. I think that this is one my best pictures that i have ever done of action portraits.

Shane B - Scribble

I took this picture of my friend scribbling on a piece of paper. I used a slower shutter speed to take this picture. I like this picture because there is a clear image of her hand in one spot and a faded blur where her hand was going back and forth to. The only edits i did on this picture was cropping it.

Yana V - Bahama Mama

I took this picture when I went to the Bahamas over Thanksgiving break. I used the picture because it was by far my favorite trip I’ve been on yet. And I met a bunch of really cool people. The Bahamas is absolutely beautiful. For this picture I was outside by the bay, and my family and I were just exploring around, and I loved the view. For this picture the only thing i did to edit it is change the shadows, made it brighter, and made it have a slight filter.

Vindhya B - Death

I took a picture of my friend Maggie lying on the ground with her eyes closed. I used linear burn to make it a little darker to emphasize the scary part. I used two flowers for her eyes with her eyelashes coming through and making them very opaque. I used the zipper to pretend like her lips were closed. I liked the second artwork. I liked it because the linear burn made the face, flowers, and lips very dark. The glittery and opaque part made the eyes stand out. The zipper came out really well. and it actually seemed like her lips are closed. I also like the color of her lips, making it seem like a bloody color.

Rachel F - Penny-Boarding

I would call this photo “Penny-Boarding”. I took this picture downtown of my friend penny-boarding by setting a low shutter speed and following her with my camera as she moved. I like this picture because the skyline in the background is blurry but she is clear, and it makes it feel like you are moving with her. I could have made this better by having it less exposed by changing the aperture, but overall I really like the picture and I enjoy taking action shots in general.

Rebecca L - Fetch

This was my favorite of all my action photography shots. I was actually trying to get a shot of him jumping and catching it but I missed by a few seconds and I think this actually turned out better than it would have. I like the way he’s concentrating on the ball and he lines up with the Rule of Thirds. The only problem with this picture is the jump in the background that throws off the balance, but besides that, it’s my favorite freeze picture.
