I find this picture compelling because the black and white makes the candy corn pop, and it is original because it was my idea to put them in a jar and make only the candy in color.

Why you find it interesting/great/compelling/original: I think simple photography (as this photo is quite simple) can speak whatever message you want it to. I think that these few buildings could stand for progress in Birmingham, as it is becoming a much more beautiful city.
Anything else that gives us insight about how you make photographs: I like photographing from a nice view that can basically mean anything to the viewer. There's no one way to think/look at a photo, anyway.

I thought it would make a good photo because of the lighting and how the eye is immediately drawn to the sunglasses and the seaweed in the background.
I used my nikon to get low on the ground and take a photo from ground level instead of up from eye level.
